Nutrition Programme
TSS implemented community-based nutrition activities with the United Nations World Food Programme under two signed Field Level Agreements (FLAs) within WFP Somalia PRRO 200443, supporting children and pregnant and lactating women in Qandala District, Bari Region.
Targeted supplementary feeding in Qandala
TSS implemented the Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programme (TSFP) through community-based final distribution points across Qandala District. The programme supported children aged 6–59 months affected by moderate acute malnutrition, together with pregnant and lactating women, and maintained site-level records for admissions, exits, caseloads and supplementary-food movements.
Formal WFP partnership
Two signed Field Level Agreements dated April 2013 document TSS’s role in reception, handling, community distribution, beneficiary monitoring and reporting for WFP-supported targeted supplementary feeding in Qandala.
Individual TSFP
Agreement CP/TSS/190/TSFP/2013 planned support for up to 1,817 recipients: 1,571 children under five, 231 pregnant and lactating women, and 15 community-nutrition-worker-supported households.
Standby family TSFP
Agreement CP/TSS/191/TSFP/2013 established a standby response for seasonal food insecurity, with a planning target of up to 1,802 recipients in Qandala and activation subject to WFP notification.
Both signed agreements fall under WFP Somalia PRRO 200443 and identify Al Ta’awun Social Service as the cooperating partner.

Late-2013 follow-up reporting
A consolidated TSFP package sent to WFP on 9 December 2013 documents continued delivery across the same 15 reporting locations. An accompanying invoice specifically records the November 2013 distribution cycle.

149 children under five and 155 pregnant or lactating women recorded as cured.
End-of-period caseload
859 children under five and 533 pregnant or lactating women.
Plumpy’Sup distributed
Distributed with zero closing stock recorded in the consolidated report.
Deaths or defaults
No deaths or defaulters were recorded in the consolidated reporting period.
The report carried forward 1,669 beneficiaries, recorded 27 new admissions and 304 exits, all recorded as cured. The associated November invoice records 5.466 MT of total TSFP food commodities distributed in Qandala, including 4.306 MT of Plumpy’Sup.

Programme delivery
TSS managed community-level registration, caseload tracking, supplementary-food distribution, commodity accountability and routine reporting. The reporting system monitored admissions, transfers, discharges, defaults and end-of-month caseloads.
